Jason Offutt

Jason Offutt grew up in a haunted farmhouse in rural Missouri. Witnessing the full-bodied apparition of a six-year-old boy dressed in a blue flannel shirt and blue jeans was exciting. Wait. No, it wasn’t. Officially it scared the hell out of him because he was eight. But this encounter did two things for him: (1) give Jason a life-long fascination for the scientifically unexplained, and (2) it gave him firm knowledge that there is, in fact, an afterlife.
Jason’s paranormal works include What Lurks Beyond, Chasing American Monsters, and Darkness Walks.
His latest fiction is The Girl in the Corn, Jason’s first horror/dark fantasy novel. He is best known for science fiction, such as his time and dimension hopping novel So You Had to Build a Time Machine, Bad Day for the Apocalypse, and How to Kill Monsters Using Common Household Objects.
Jason teaches university journalism and cooks for his family. You can find more about Jason at his website, www.jasonoffutt.com.
